In my article "The end of the computer mouse is coming"I reported the Dawn Treader-unit. According to a report in “The Daily” Microsoft testing prototype notebook with an integrated unit Kinect.
The built-in camera with a depth sensor to detect gestures of a user and convert them into commands. The first prototype is said to have produced Asus. This innovation is intended for the MS Windows operating system 8.
The webcam has been replaced in this prototype through a series of sensors. Below the screen along with built-in LEDs, they should do the functionality of Kinect.
A source at Microsoft confirmed, that it is the prototype device are official.
Microsoft wants to test how the motion control in any future operation of Windows notebooks 8 can use. The results are then licenses the technology to interested hardware manufacturers.
Microsoft had already announced at CES in early January, that Kinect will be available as an add-on hardware for PCs. An integration into notebook case or monitors were previously not known.
